Project Ancestor - Entry #3

After the expedition’s success, I’ve dedicated my time off at the hospital to further decipher the book. It was an extremely time-consuming task. The letters used don’t directly translate to the English alphabet. But after several weeks, I’ve crafted a cohesive translation of the book. It goes quite in depth, but I've written a summary of its content below.

At some point in the past, presumably dating BC, there was a woman blessed by the very same fertility statue I laid my eyes on. She is referred to as 'Mitsuki'.The book covered how a tribe was in a desperate state, with fertility levels at an all-time low. After losing a one-sided war, they scraped together what they had and were forced to relocate somewhere else. The cave with the statue became their new home, with plenty of cover from rain and potential dangers. However, the tribe was quick to think foul of the statue due to religious reasons and abandoned the cave. Mitsuki, who was still young by then, was the sole human in the tribe who thought otherwise. She would daily visit the cave to take care of the shrine. It is noted that she kept it clean, yet spend hours inside. The woman must have felt some kind of inner connection to the statue. Perhaps even the same kind I felt during the expedition. One that drew me closer towards it, like it was an instinct. But that's probably just superstition.

It took several years for the blessing to actually occur on Mitsuki. It is stated that she heard the statue talk about how Mitsuki had done well in reviving her and that she'd be the first to receive her blessing. Mentioned effects included a more fertile body, in shape and spirit. Which presumably means a fuller female body and better fertility chances. Each consecutive pregnancy increased the embryo count and the effects it had on her body. Mitsuki was able to save the village with the aid of the blessing. Her ability to conceive children was unrivaled by her worshipers and predecessors alike, even after several generations. Truly earning her the title of 'Fertility Priestess'.

From what I’ve gathered from the next few pages, is that my ancestors got exiled from the village. Reasons why aren’t shown, and unfortunately it’s too late to ask my grandmother directly. The blessing that was within their blood or... spirit got cursed. One would think that a curse on the fertility of that tribe would render it extinct, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Fortunately for me.

All in all, a very interesting read. I need to scout for more potential leads on this. There are still a lot of unanswered questions. Judging from the statue, wide hips seem to be more common in that time. However, why don't any of my parents or grandparent share the same condition I have? Why are me and my sister the only ones affected by this blessing? If it even is the blessing, and not some extreme coincidence.

“There, I think that’s it. Nothing more to add.”, Victoria said to herself. She leaned back on the chair, specifically constructed for her extremely wide hips. The blonde woman looked up to the ceiling, letting her fantasy run wild with potential paths and conclusions.

“Mitsuki must have been one hell of a woman... Carrying such a heavy burden for the sake of her village. Both physically and mentally...”

The plot thickens! Finally something more coherent to answer all those questions you might have had with the debut of Victoria. If not, then hopefully this'll generate enough interest in what lies underneath all this. Unfortunately it also seemed that the debut was a little misleading. Some thought she'd start growing or it was the start of something glorious. While in fact it's more the conclusion of a story, and the start of another.

The follow-ups to this will be more interesting. Character interactions do wonders for that. ;)
